Essentials for Practice Success
Innovations in Wound Management
Special, one-day programs on how to expand your practice by adding wound management as a special clinical service, and how to be reimbursed properly to increase your practice revenue. Designed by practicing podiatrists for practicing podiatrists, and presented by the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine (ACFAOM).

is pleased to offer you a full day - 8 CME contact hours - of absorbing
and engaging information on latest developments on the care
of patients with wounds. If you are a podiatrist who seeks to know the
latest developments in wound management, this is the program for you.
Four outstanding
faculty from within the profession will make the day pass quickly as
they interact with each other and you, debating various
approaches to the care of wounds and providing you with those critical
and practical insights that ensure your patients will recover rapidly
and successfully and you will
receive full reimbursement. Bring your most difficult cases! Our goal
is to help you practice better patient care and be paid for your time
and expertise.
Morning Plenary Session
8:00 - 12:00 AM with one 30-minute break
Faculty
will present three to four different cases that will address the topics
listed below. Each case will be dealt comprehensively from the initial
presentation through wound management including basic and advanced
therapies. The session will conclude by addressing long-term continual
management. The cases will be based on different types of wounds -
diabetic, venous, pressure and the “others”. All aspects of each case will be presented including coding and billing aspects.
Topics
to be addressed include: Diabetic Update, Evaluation and Management of
PAD/PVD, Management of Painful Neuropathy, Negative Pressure, Factors
and Skin Equivalents, Deformed Diabetic Foot: Management Options, HBO, and Offloading: Temporary and Permanent.
Afternoon Breakout Sessions and Workshops
1:00 - 5:00 PM with one 30-minute break
Workshops and special focus sessions will be the order of the afternoon
offering hands-on, direct contact with faculty and support staff. Areas
of concentration will include: Coding
and Billing, Hydro Debridement, Dressings, Skin Equivalents, Negative
Pressure, Total Contact Casting, Compression Therapy, Diagnostic
Technology.
